Civ 5 is absolutely worth it, but if you intend to save money then waiting for Civ 6 is your best bet (since it sounds like you'll be getting it anyway). They're both really solid games and I don't think you'll be disappointed with either. If you go with Civ 5, make sure you get the complete edition.
